FAQs
In this section, we collected the most frequently asked questions about our online refresher courses in radiation protection.
For whom is the in-service training TMS dentistry basics intended?
You hold a diploma in radiation expertise level 5A, 5M or 5 A/M, radiation protection for dentists and orthodontists or TMS dentistry basic.
For dentists with a diploma obtained within the EEA, this is also the appropriate continuing education.

How does 'Team sign up' work?
If you want to sign up several participants at the same time within your practice, choose the 'Sign up team' option. You then order the number of refresher courses for the participants. After payment, download the Excel file and enter the participants' e-mail addresses and names. You can then e-mail these, stating the order number, to info@avs-radiant.nl. We will process this registration for you. Within 48 hours, participants can start the in-service training via an invitation e-mail in the given e-mail address.
Do I meet the legal requirement after certification?
After attending continuing education, both for dentists and assistants/dental hygienists, you will be up-to-date on your knowledge regarding modern radiation hygiene and current regulations. The KNMT's Dental Radiology Directive states that four hours of refresher training on radiation protection and radiology every five years is sufficient for dentists. For assistants, this is at least one hour. If you take our refresher training, you will thus comply with the regulations.
What is the collaboration with VGT?
Do you have a discount code from the VGT?
You can get your desired refresher training by selecting the refresher training and entering the discount code during the purchase process. This is self-explanatory. You can start the periodic training immediately. The required certificate is in the name of the person who registers for the course.
How do I obtain my KRT points?
If you are registered with the KRT and you enter your BIG registration number at the start of the refresher course, your KRT points will be processed for you, you do not need to do anything else.
If no points have been added to your KRT account after some time, please contact info@avs-radiant.nl by e-mail. It may be that in your account your BIG number has not or not correctly been entered. We will solve this for you as soon as possible.
What is the study load of this refresher course?
The full continuing education TMS dentistry basics consists of four modules. Each module takes 60 minutes to read through and watch. Each module concludes with a test. The total study time for this continuing education is 4 hours. The continuing education for assistants/monhygienists has a study load of approximately 2 hours.
How do I access the refresher training?
You select the desired refresher course on our website and make the payment. After (automatic) payment registration, you will receive a link to start the training right away. You can log in at any time via "My Account", allowing you to complete the training at your own pace.
How long will I have access to continuing education?
After paying for the course, you will have unlimited access to the course materials for one year. It is not possible to share the login with another dentist. The required certificate is in the name of the person who registers and pays for the course.
Is an online course as good as a physical meeting?
The content of the online course is identical to what is presented in physical continuing education meetings. We use different forms of media, such as text, illustrations, spoken 'explainers' and videos. Because of this variety, it is not perceived as boring and there is a high learning yield.
